Once completed, the database developed by the team will be searchable by name, keyword, and location.
Stories of the Enslaved
A regularly updated collection of short biographies of enslaved people from Virginia who were sold into the Mississippi River Valley.
Essays
A collection of peer-reviewed essays which contextualize the database and data visualizations created by the project team.
Teaching Tools
Lesson plans and essays to help 6-12 and higher education faculty use the database, essays and biographies in the classroom.
Bibliography
A selected bibliography of materials written by other scholars.
